      No – if an action is immoral, even if it benefits our understanding of psychology, I would never consider it. Early psychologists made these mistakes (for example, the Stanford Prison experiment) and caused psychological damage to participants. This is why every psychology study must be approved by an ethics committee to ensure that any risks have been considered and avoided before the study can take place.
