Question: why did you want to go into this profession?

Thank you for your question Leah. I’ve always enjoyed doing research and looking for answers to the questions that I am curious about. But the more I found answers to these questions, the more I felt like I wanted to share this knowledge with others too. In this sense, teaching is a wonderful opportunity. I think university education is such an important life period which can shape an individual’s entire life, so to have an impact on even one student’s university experience is extremely valuable for me. This is the main reason I wanted to go into teaching as well as continuing to do research. I have been a lecturer for two years only, but I feel like it’s given me so much fulfilment and happiness already. It is a challenging job, because there is always more that I can do, but I feel motivated to do it all because I think of how it might change a student’s life.
