I’d originally completed a law degree and had wanted to work as a solicitor within the area of criminal law. Once I’d done my degree I realised that wasn’t the career for me and then got a job in a prison. It was that job that showed me about the role that forensic psychologists had and how they could help people to redirect their lives after committing an offence. I’d never even known about that job before! I went back to Uni to undertake my Psychology conversion course and together with my knowledge of law, it seemed that a focus on forensic psychology was the ideal choice for me.
