      Hi Finn,

Equality is when everyone (in this case women and men) receive equal resources or opportunities regardless of their starting point (i.e., what they might already have). Equity is when resources/opportunities are shared depending on everyone’s starting point in order to make it a level playing field.

This image illustrates the different nicely: https://interactioninstitute.org/illustrating-equality-vs-equity/

Women’s empowerment is more of a political movement (i.e., feminism) which aims to raise the status of women’s and girls and highlight the issues faced by them.

      Cheers!
