• Question: What do you find the most interesting psychological approach?

      I am probably biased because it is the field I work in but I find the cognitive approach fascinating because cognitive psychologists use experiments and other quantitative methods to uncover the complexities of things we do every of our lives with ease. For example, my research over the last 10+ years has looked at all the factors and processes involved in recognising someone’s face, and believe me its complex! Yet on a daily basis we are incredibly good at recognising people we are familiar with. It shows just how impressive the human brain is!

      I strongly stick with the cognitive approach, the way that we analyze the input-process-output model of the brain makes a lot of sense to me, and there is a LOT of research verifying the processes we talk about. There are still so many more questions to ask, but we’re slowly figuring out how our brains do the things that they do, and why
