About Me:
I live with my family in the Lincolnshire/Yorkshire area and enjoy being right in the middle of the countryside. I am a Forensic Psychologist who is quite creative and loves to sing, play ukulele and knit – an interesting combination! I enjoy long walks with my dog and running.

I wouldn’t say I am a natural runner, however my biggest running achievement to date was completing the Great North Run (half marathon) in 2017! The jelly babies I consumed along the route were very welcome! 🙂

I’ve worked in Forensic Psychology for around 25 years although it wasn’t the career I originally considered! I wanted to be a lawyer and originally studied an undergraduate degree in Law. After being introduced to psychology in my first graduate job in the prison service, I went back to study psychology and the rest is history! I have worked with people convicted of a range of different offences, across the age span. I specialise in working with people in the criminal justice, health and social care sector who have experienced trauma and and mental health difficulties. My teaching and research at the University of Lincoln involves sharing my academic and professional practice knowledge across undergraduate, postgraduate and professional practice courses. I love the variety of my job and the fact that no two days are ever the same!

My Typical Day:
After waking, I’m straight out to walk my energetic cocker spaniel! By the time I get to my desk at 9am, I’ve probably had at least 2 cups of Yorkshire tea! If it’s a University day, I’m either teaching students for the rest of the day, marking work or meeting with colleagues. If it’s a practice day, I’m seeing people in forensic/health services, supervising other staff or writing reports. Lunchtimes change daily but I try to make it healthy – although always have room for cake! I’m generally home by around 5-6pm.
